Hercules and the Crab

Ever wondered where the constellation Cancer came from?

When Hercules was fighting the many headed Hydra, a crab called Karkinos came and pinched him on the foot. Enraged by the crab, Hercules stamped on and crushed the crab.

Seeing this, the Goddess Hera (deity of women, marriage, family and childbirth), picked up the crushed crab, and placed it in the stars.

All of the above was considered 100% true all those thousands of years ago - but now it’s just a quaint story. It’s almost as if what is recognised as truth is a relative and ever changing concept.
